The fifth class hurling league final was played today. It was a thrilling match with some fantastic scores. Shane, Luke, Lucy, Isabel and Keith were crowned league winners. Hard luck to our runners up! They fought a tough battle to the very end and never gave up!
Thursday, June 10th was a day not to be missed in SNC. Children from juniors to sixth class had their school sports day and each and every child had a marvellous day! Activities included the slow bicycle race, tug of war, sponges and water race, balloon burst race,...
“No one is born a good cook. One learns by doing.” Fifth class got to practise their culinary skills today in school making a delicious shepherds pie and lasagne. Some children even overcame their fear of veggies and devoured their whole meal!
A huge thanks to our SNA, Emma who gave us a wonderful surprise on Friday morning. She made delicious and nutritious fruit smoothies for all the class. Thanks Emma, you are awesome!!

Fifth class celebrated Biodiversity week by doing a zoom call based on insects and invertebrates with An Taisce. It was a very interesting presentation.
We are very proud of Daniel, in fifth class who was recently registered as a ‘Beekeeper’. Daniel currently tends to over 20,000 bees at home in his garden. Daniel’s enthusiasm for bees is remarkable and inspiring. He really is an un-bee-lievable boy!!!
Fifth class are really enjoying ASW 2021. They have tried out a range of activities this week: rounders, running challenges, hurling, over the river and tag rugby. Active Body, Healthy Mind.
To make the most of the nice weather before the Easter break, fifth class went on a short trail around Borrisoleigh answering questions, sketching from observation etc.
