Huge thanks to those at Birr Education Centre for facilitating such an enjoyable school tour for Rang 4. A day of canoeing, pier jumping, archery, climbing wall and lots more ensured that the children left school and returned with big smiles on their faces!

Pizza making proved a great hit with rang 4. Some tables made the dough, others made a tomato based sauce and another group chopped up all the toppings. It was a feast for for a king!! For those that didn’t eat pizza, we had pasta/ goujons. 🍕 🍝 🍗

Fourth class put the aprons on and competed in a Bake- Off in their classroom. The results were amazing with the children making sponge cake, biscuits cake, lemon drizzle cake and rocky road.

Today fourth class got their green fingers out and made a start weeding  the school garden and planting some flowers. Lovely work by all our budding gardeners!!

Fourth class have been busy in recent weeks learning about the Great Famine and how it devastated the Irish population and sparked starvation, disease, emigration and death. Lots of very interesting scenes have been re-enacted by the boys and girls.
