Dear Parents,
Owing to the publication of the new ‘Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post
Primary Schools 2017’ schools are obliged to engage in Staff Continuing Professional
Development in relation to the new procedures.
Government legislation in relation to Child Safeguarding stipulates that all schools must
prepare a Risk Assessment and Safeguarding Statement by March 11th 2018.
Consequently, Scoil Naomh Cualán will be closed for children on Friday, March 2nd to allow
for this process. We regret any inconvenience which this may cause but the timeframe for
this process is outside of our control.
