On Friday we hosted our very first drive-through cinema. Children from Junior and Senior Infants spent a few days decorating their own cars made from cardboard boxes. Once the cars were decorated, we cut a hole in the middle so the children could step inside and become the driver. On Friday morning, the day of the holidays, the children drove their cars carefully around the school yard to make sure they were able to drive safely into our cinema theatre. Once they entered the hall, they parked their cars, sat down with their lovely cosy cushions, and settled in for the movie.
And of course, a trip to the cinema wouldn’t be complete without a little treat, so everyone received a special treat box which included some popcorn. It was a fantastic experience for the children — one which we hope they will always remember!
