County Champions!
Sunday 3rd of November will live long in the memory! Our heroes in maroon and white brought back the ‘Dan Breen’ after a 33 year wait. All in Scoil Naomh Cualán extend our heartiest congratulations to the panel and everyone involved in the fantastic achievement. We are delighted that Dan Breen will be coming to the school this Friday at a time to be confirmed. Liam McCarthy may also be making an appearance so the children can wear their Borris colours or Tipp colours to school on Friday.
Parent/ Teacher meetings
Parent/ Teacher meetings will take place on the 20th and 21st of November. If you know that you will be unable to attend on that date or wish to request a certain time slot please contact Clare on the school mobile (0860233023) on or before Thursday 7th November. We will do our best to accommodate where possible but we must know asap as there is a lot to take into account when timetabling the meetings, thank you. Please note, school will close at 2:30pm on both days to accommodate the meetings.
School Christmas Show
Our show will take place over two nights the 11th and 12th of December. As you know our school numbers have increased significantly in recent years and we had to think long and hard about how we could run the concert in the best and safest way. We have carefully considered a number of options in terms of ensuring safety and comfort for everybody and have decided that our show this year will be performed by Junior and Senior Infants and 5th and 6th class. It will be the same show both nights.
In order to ensure that all who wish to see the shows get to do so, and that we keep within the safety capacity of the Marian Hall, we will be obliged to operate a booking system for each of the nights. We wish to ensure that all families get to see their children, so families of our pupils will get priority and we will not make any tickets available to the general public until Monday, December 9th, after which they will be available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. We hope that this change will enable us to accommodate everybody who wishes to attend.
Tickets will go on sale to families from 25th November to 5th of December. Tickets will cost €8 for adults and €4 for students. (SNC pupils not participating in the concert will require a ticket but it will be free of charge) Please contact Clare to book tickets and please book early to avoid disappointment. Please note, tickets are only valid for one night and are not transferable.
Christmas Carol Service
Our students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes will take part in the Christmas Carol service in the church on a date to be confirmed in December.
Christmas Shoebox Appeal
Shoeboxes must be in the school no later than Thursday morning as they are being collected at lunchtime. Many thanks.
Tipperary Food Tour Colouring Competition
Huge congratulations to Grace Groome who won the county wide colouring competition. Grace won a visit from the Tipperary Food Producers for her class that involved, a cooking demonstration by Maureen Egan of Inch House and food tasting. The children also got to experience a Virtual Reality tour of Tipperary with VR headsets. It was a really enjoyable event for all in 3rd and 4th class.
Thanking you,
