Since the amalgamation of Scoil Naomh Cualán, a tradition of hosting a bi-annual variety concert has been started. Every second year staff and students alike spend weeks of time and labour preparing, perfecting and presenting plays.  The night of the school concert is always  a truly wonderful  event with input emerging from the whole school in all areas of the show including performing, directing, music, producing, props, costume, art design to name but a few. 2017 did not disappoint!

All roads led to the Marian Hall on Wednesday 13th December and Thursday 14th December 2017 as Scoil Naomh Cualán hosted two concert nights to a crowded hall. Three amazing plays were performed on both nights. Junior and Senior infants  performed  Snowman at Sunset, while first and second class performed Baboushka. Third to sixth class then performed ‘Aladdin’ Trouble’.Both nights were undoubtedly the highlight of the year so far .The atmosphere in the hall on both nights was electric. The singing, acting and dancing were praised immensely. The talent that we have in the Scoil Naomh Cualán is exceptional. Children from juniors to sixth class are already looking forward to the next concert!

Although all classrooms were extremely busy preparing for the school concerts, the teachers still made time for lots of fun activities in the lead up to Christmas such as: making centrepieces for the dinner table, making dioramas, making candle holders, Christmas songs and dramas, wreath making, fabric and fibre Christmas pictures, cooking of cookies, gingerbread houses and pizza. It surely was an action packed month!

A massive thank you to all the students, staff, parents and friends who worked hard over the last number of weeks to get the concert to stage. Thanks also to all who supported our raffle. The money raised will help fund the cost of extra curricular activities in Scoil Naomh Cualan as well as funding the everyday costs of running a school.

We are all now looking forward to a very peaceful and happy Christmas and New Year. Please God when we come back to school in January, Santa will have come to us all!
