27th November, is the day that the Fair of Borris took place in Borrisoleigh, right up until the 1960’s. The children in SNC loved hearing stories about the day of the fair, faction fights, Mrs. Noonan’s sweet shop, Winnie Faheys, cutting ash plants, the Drovers etc. Fourth class got the opportunity to re-enact scenes from the Fair which they thoroughly enjoyed.
