On Thursday the 27th  of February Scoil Naomh Cualán, together with the kind support of our local Track Attack Committee hosts: “ Get Active With Scoil Naomh Cualán, ” a running/ walking/ jogging sprinting!!!  event in our local town park. The event is broken up into three events this year:

Women’s and Teens Mile: 7pm

Primary School Kids Mile: 7:20pm

Men’s and Teens Mile: 7:45pm

with registration at 6:30pm in the Park Pavillon. The entry fee on the night is 5 for adults, 2 for U18s and      10 per family. All proceeds are kindly being donated to Scoil Naomh Cualán. All are welcome.

All primary pupils will be selected into mixed ability / age teams prior to the night and will also receive their running number prior to the night. Adults/ teens will not require a number and can therefore register on the night. The child’s number can be pinned onto the top they cross the line in so a member of Track Attack can note their finishing position.  Teams will be of mixed ability.

Medals will be given to the first (3 women/teens), (3 men/teens) , (3 primary boys), (3 primary girls ) as well as  the winning team. The winning team will receive the Scoil Naomh Cualán Get Active Cup.  Hand crafted Irish slate medals are being designed and produced by Christy Slattery of Latteragh Crafts Borrisoleigh. The post race presentation will be held in Scoil Naomh Cualán and will be organised by the Track Attack Committee and Scoil Naomh Cualán. So come along and experience the Borrisoleigh Track Attack atmosphere with our mile fun run/ walk under lights. All are welcome and you do not have to be attending Scoil Naomh Cualán to participate on the night, however the running competition is limited to children attending Scoil Naomh Cualán.

In order to organise teams ahead of the event we request that you agree to your child participation in the event over and also note that by agreeing to participation that your child’s photo/ video on the night may be uploaded and shared through social media by the Track Attack’s Facebook page. Please note that all children must remain supervised by the guardians/ parents on the night in the park and at the school as this event is taking place out of school hours. We hope this will be safe and enjoyable fun event for all and a chance to enjoy the wonderful facility we have in our local park.
