Scoil Naomh Cualán is back in full swing! As you know the WSE inspection took place this week and everyone did brilliantly. The girls and boys were excellent and showcased all their knowledge and talents.
The school photographer is coming this Monday the 23rd. Photos of siblings will be taken and if you only have one child in the school, their individual photo will be taken. However, if you have more than one child in the school and you wish to have individual photos taken, you must request this by contacting Clare on 086-0233023. Likewise, if there are cousins in the school and you would like a group photo taken this must be requested through Clare also.
The ‘New Junior Infants’ supplement is in this weeks Tipperary Star. A group picture of our newest pupils is in it, if any parents wish to purchase it.
I would again like to highlight our school’s attendance strategy. If your child is unable to attend school for any reason please let us know as soon as possible. There are a number of ways you can contact us; by phone on 086-0233023 or 0504-51473, by text, on our website or by sending in a note to the class teacher. Your assistance in this matter is gratefully received.
This Friday the 20th Clare Ryan our secretary will be joining her colleagues in the Fórsa trade union, in striking for better pay and conditions. The school stands right behind Clare and her union in demanding improved conditions. Clare is the heartbeat of our school and I know everyone in our school community will show her great support and solidarity.
Our Parent/ Teacher meetings will take place on the 20th and 21st of November this year. Timeslots will be allotted closer to the time.
The school will be closed on Thursday, January 9th for whole school training for the ‘New Primary Language Curriculum’. Training will take place in Thurles.
We have received our date for the First Holy Communion, it will be on the 17th May.
Once again, thank you for all your support this new school year.
Le gach dea- ghuí,
Michael Small and staff
