I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your child on another excellent year in Scoil Naomh Cualán and wish you a happy, safe and fun filled summer holidays.
New Drumcondra tests
In your child’s End of Year Report you will see the STen scores they achieved in Maths, Reading and Spelling, depending on the class they’re in. Please find enclosed in this envelope a letter from the ERC who devise the tests, explaining how the tests have been updated and standardised to new 2018 norms. The letter explains that you may see a drop in your child’s STen and this maybe because of a number of reasons but, “ However, at the point of transition from older tests to new ones, change is more likely to occur because it is now possible to compare the child’s achievement to that of an up-to-date reference group.”
As always, if you wish to discuss the End of Year Report with the class teacher please contact Clare to make an appointment and we would be more than happy to meet you.
