Children in first class partake in station teaching to help improve their literacy skills. The class is divided into five groups and they complete an activity at each of the five stations.
Station 1= Stile (a vocabulary development and reading activity), Station 2= a board game based on the 220 Dolch words, Station 3= Don’t Say It Game (promotes oral language, vocabulary and reading), Station 4- reading station and using whiteboards to answer questions about opposites/synonyms etc. and Station 5=Palette (a vocabulary development and reading activity)
Station teaching is an excellent way of learning through play and fun.
